On 24 February last, Pacte Industrial of the Barcelona Metropolitan Region held a Mobility Commission meeting in which sustainable mobility has been addressed in areas of economic activity<\/strong>. The meeting was organised with the support of the Metropolitan Transport Authority<\/strong> (ATM), the result of the historic collaboration between the two entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xavier Sanyer<\/strong>, head of the ATM Mobility Service, has presented a methodology promoted by the agency that simplifies the implementation of mobility plans in industrial estates<\/strong> both in terms of cost and time. Sanyer<\/strong> showed the pilot test that was carried out in Vic and Gurb, and explained that it is a methodology that can be extrapolated<\/strong> throughout the region and that for each specific case the most optimal mobility solutions must be sought. The more than 130 people<\/strong> who attended the meeting online were able to participate through an interactive tool, and the information collected will be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobility, a priority for the Pacte Industrial<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The president of the Mobility Commission and representative of UGT of Catalonia in the Pacte Industrial, Juan Jos\u00e9 Casado<\/strong>, highlighted the role of the association in providing collective reflection and consensus proposals<\/strong> around sustainable and safe mobility<\/strong> as a lever and backbone of the region<\/strong>, of strengthening the productive fabric<\/strong> and quality employment<\/strong>. Casado<\/strong> added that the Pacte Industrial \u201chas tried to anticipate and build agreements<\/strong> on key aspects of mobility from the consideration that it is one of the essential drivers for the necessary change in the production model\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Carles Rivera<\/strong>, the managing director of Pacte Industrial, has emphasised the industrial vision<\/strong> with which the entity deals with mobility<\/strong>. \u201cAround sustainable mobility there is a very powerful industry<\/strong>, and it can be even more so, generating jobs and economic activity\u201d, pointed out Rivera<\/strong>, who also recalled the Sustainable Mobility Industry Forum<\/strong> initiative driven by the Pacte Industrial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
