The Pacte Industrial of the Barcelona Metropolitan Region held on 11 December the 20th General Council at Mataró, attended by the representatives of the local councils and entities which comprise the association. During the meeting was approved the adhesion of La Llagosta, La Palma de Cervelló, Vallirana and Caldes de Montbui Town Councils as new ordinary members. In the case of Caldes de Montbui, the municipality has already informed the Pacte Industrial of their intention to join the association and is just now waiting for the formal application to take effect.
With these new members, the Pacte Industrial continues to expand and includes the incorporation of new entities that share the same objectives. Under the aegis of this alliance, the Pacte Industrial has secured the support of 50 town councils, Barcelona Provincial Council, Barcelona Metropolitan Area, the Government of Catalonia, 11 business organisations, the 2 largest trade unions, 6 county councils, 6 universities and a variety of institutions related to the field of economic development.
